In this assignment we were asked to graph the CBM (Classroom Based Measures) data for two students. Graphs were to include trend lines and benchmark lines. As a math interventionist it is important to be able to administer progress monitoring tests, and make instructional decisions based on student data.
This assignment was an interpretative summary including recommendations for other assessment and/or intervention strategies appropriate to each case study. When the interventions that are being used are not achieving the desired results it is important that a math interventionist be able to recommend strategies and set goals for students.

This assignment required us to respond to the concerns of a teacher who was unable to get an ELL student to show his work. It is important to understand cultural differences that might affect how students present their math understanding. In coaching teachers it is important to be able to help them identify the root cause of a difficulty.

The purpose of this assignment was to choose one of the shifts in classroom practice and identify the teacher moves necessary to make the shift. Understanding and being able to coach teachers toward these shifts is a critical skill for math specialists.
This is a reflection written after viewing a video on divergent questioning and wait time.

Questioning is such an important skill that teachers need to develop and this is a presentation on questioning which was created to be used as a coaching tool.
Being able to present opportunities to collaborate and participate in professional development is so important that presenting them in a way that gets teachers motivated is a vital skill. This is a proposed publicity plan for an upcoming PLC meeting.
We were asked to visit the What Works Clearinghouse and then evaluate a math program. As a math specialist being able to analyze and recognize high quality programs is a necessity.
In this assignment we were asked to analyze student data and communicate our findings to parents and teachers. Begin able to form good relationships with teachers and parents establishes a math specialist as a partner in student success.
This assignment asked us to create a professional development plan targeting one concept. Being able to identify opportunities for useful professional development is at the heart of what math specialists do.
We were asked to chose one of the stages in the CBAM and complete the table for a teacher we might work with. It is important to recognize where each teacher is and meet them there in order to provide the most effective coaching.
